Camp David - About Coach David Estes..."David played professional soccer with the Los Angeles Lazers, the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), and for Mexico City in the Mexican Premier League"David Estes has been a coach, program director, and educator for over 20 years, as well as a professional soccer player. David's ability to coach, motivate and train individuals and teams has been enjoyed by thousands - from children aged 3 to 17, to professional athletes. David's educational career began as a full scholarship college athlete at California State University at Fresno for soccer and baseball. After college, David played professional soccer with the Los Angeles Lazers, the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), and for Mexico City in the Mexican Premier League. He has taught Physical Education at the Elementary, Middle, and High School levels in six different Unified School Districts in California and has served as Head Coach and Captain for the semi-pro Westside Surfs Soccer Club since 1982. David has a special interest and heart for children and adults with special needs, providing services for Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children and the local Senior Citizens home. Over the past 30 years he has worked with individuals with substance abuse and addictions, juvenile delinquents, inner-city disadvantaged youths, children with learning disabilities, and adolescents with emotional and psychological problems. David has developed a method of utilizing sports and movement to listen, connect heal, and problem-solve for individuals and their families. As a respected personal trainer and coach, he has had the opportunity to also influence CEO's and Industry leaders in the entertainment, professional sports, and corporate arenas, specifically teaching them how to "play" with their own children, and to temporarily leave the pressurized business world at arm's length. Aside from David's career, he is a gourmet chef, fisherman, naturalist, big brother, and uncle to 23 nephews and nieces. |
